This end-to-end workflow demonstrates every documented Research Librarian capability through one fictional resilient-community-retrofit case. The objective is not to prove a real-world conclusion; it is to verify the complete product workflow with controlled data.

Sample data

This article uses a fictional Resilient Community Retrofit Program. The files contain one demonstration row for every documented feature, so each capability can be tested without private or production data.

Procedure

Scenario

A community center is assessing energy, comfort, financing, implementation, evidence, and monitoring needs. Use only the supplied fictional records.

1. Question Intake: ask how a city should compare retrofit options. Confirm a normalized research request.
2. Scope Gate: keep the request within Sustainable Catalyst research and products. Confirm an in-scope route or clear boundary.
3. Intent Classification: classify the request as sourcing, calculation, analysis, or decision support. Confirm a transparent intent record.
4. Knowledge Library Retrieval: retrieve energy-efficiency and decision-method documents. Confirm ranked library records.
5. Product Routing: route calculation to Workbench and synthesis to Decision Studio. Confirm a product sequence with reasons.
6. Source Discovery: identify utility, building, climate, and finance source types. Confirm a source shortlist with provenance expectations.
7. Research Path Assembly: build a six-stage retrofit research path. Confirm an ordered journey.
8. Follow-up Questions: ask only for geography and decision deadline. Confirm a narrower query.
9. Evidence Cards: show source, relevance, confidence, and limitations. Confirm compact evidence records.
10. Citation Handoffs: send selected sources to Knowledge Library or Decision Studio. Confirm structured source handoffs.
11. Saved Journeys: save the community retrofit journey. Confirm persistent route and state.
12. Feedback and Ratings: record that the route helped but lacked procurement guidance. Confirm a bounded quality signal.
13. Index Health: confirm indexed record count and timestamp. Confirm a visible index status.
14. Endpoint Diagnostics: distinguish UI, network, backend, and index failures. Confirm an actionable diagnostic state.
15. Human Review Boundary: review suggested citations before relying on them. Confirm an advisory route rather than authority.

Save and review

Save the final workspace under the sample workspace ID.
Close and reopen it in a clean session.
Compare every feature result with the sample expected_result field.
Document unresolved differences and do not hide warnings.
Export one complete artifact bundle.
Send one supported handoff to an integration and verify its receipt.

Verification
